Meet Alex! She is graduating this year and I just can’t believe it! She became family when my brother married her mom…and then she really (really) became family when he legally adopted her earlier this year. While everyone was home at Thanksgiving, we managed to sneak away for a couple of hours to get her senior photos done. Enjoy!
These images are my favorite from Alex’s senior session. I shoot outside in natural light and these images have a warmth to them that only comes from the last couple hours of the day. Plus, I don’t remember what I said but she is truly smiling in these and I love when real emotion comes through in a photograph… Those kind of images just make my heart happy. <3 <3 And to add even more heart happy feelers to these images, Alex is wearing the necklace my brother gave her after he adopted her. Go ahead and blink back that tear, I won’t tell anyone!
On the couple of images below, I tried a different editing style, which I think turned out great! I feel that it gives them an almost Christmas-ie (yes, I totally just made that word up) feel, especially with the color of her shirt against the trees. I wanted it to portray her almost in forest type scenery… Now, if you knew where we were, this was probably the only tree that had this style of greenery on it within at least ten feet. I pretty much made Alex stand in the middle of what branches this tree had but she had fun during the session, which is almost as important as the final images! 😀
While we were at it, we snapped a few of the whole family! In case you were wondering, the tall guy is my brother!
I can’t wait to see what Alex does after graduation! She is a beautiful girl and I’m so glad that she’s family. <3<3<3
